New Study Confirms Exams' Effectiveness

A new study released today by Abt Associates of Cambridge, Mass. found that giving eye exams to all preschool-aged children would detect, treat and cure significantly more cases of amblyopia than vision screenings. 1 in 4 school children has an undiagnosed vision problem that can lead to difficulty in learning.

The study also found that universal preschool eye exams would be highly cost-effective and would produce a greater return on investment than other interventions, such as vision screenings
