How do I place an order?
All you need to order with us is your prescription. Your eye care practitioner must, by law, provide you with a copy of your prescription,

How do I obtain my prescription?
Your eye care practitioner is required under law to give you a clear, legible copy of your prescription following your eye test. You are NOT required to purchase your eyewear from the provider of your eye test. We are sorry due to privacy issues we cannot contact your Doctor directly to obtain your prescription.

Is it safe for me to pay for your products online?
Yes absolutely. We use highly secure servers and payment processors for all payments. Should you feel uncomfortable paying online please call our office directly (contact us) and we will be glad to assist you with your order and payment.

What type of lenses do you use?
We use lightweight CR39 plastic lenses for most of our glasses. For our 'thin' lenses, we use polycarbonate high index lenses. We do not provide glass lenses.

Do you sell prescription sunglasses and other tinted lenses?
Sure. We have a variety of colors of tints or glasses can be made with the "transition" photosensitive feature. This type of lens is clear in normal lighting conditions, but tints itself under sunlight and includes a 100% UV filter. These options can be specified when ordering.

Do you sell bifocal and Trifocal lenses?
Yes we do Details are available on the check out page – just check the lens style you wish

What is the segment shape of bifocal lenses?
We use D28 bifocal lenses. These are 28mm wide "D" shaped segments that are positioned according to our SureFIT© technology.  We can also make up D35 bifocal lenses which at 35mm are slightly wider.

Do you supply progressive lenses?
Yes we do and with our SureFIT© technology accurate fitting is assured.

How do you determine the placement of multifocals?

SureFIT© assures accurate fitting of multifocal lenses ordered on the internet.

Joseph Motta LDO our founder has developed a proprietary algorithm to determine the vertical placement of the reading section of multifocal lenses.

This algorithm incorporates multiple frame measurements and the patients RX information and pupillary information.

By using the SureFIT© algorithm the patient no longer needs to be measured in each and every frame they desire. After extensive testing we have found this algorithm to be as accurate, and in many cases, more accurate than conventional multifocal placement as it has eliminated the 'human error" factor.

SureFIT© has been utilized in our online store since 2007 with amazing patient satisfaction.

Ordering your Progressive and Bifocal lenses online has never been easier or more accurate.

So no matter where you are with SureFIT© your measurements will be just as accurate as if we had measured you ourselves.

How long before I get my glasses?
Delivery is usually within 14 working days, subject to the complexity of the prescription and coatings.

We do not offer an expedited service. All orders are shipped US Priority Mail.

We're sorry there is nothing we can do to speed the process of your order. Each order is processed based upon its time of entry into the lab. Oldest orders being processed first. We give equal importance to each customers order. The projected shipping date is an estimate of when the order is projected to be shipped. In some cases the order may ship before that date. We can assure you that your order will be processed as expeditiously and as accurately as possible.

Can I use my contact lens prescription for ordering glasses?
No, your contact lens and eyeglasses prescriptions usually have differences. You must have your eyes tested and a prescription issued for use with eyeglasses which is less than 5 years old.

What is my Pupillary distance (PD), and how do I obtain it?
PD is the distance from the centre of the pupil (black spot) in one eye to the center of the pupil in the other eye. This measurement improves the positioning of your lenses within the frame you have chosen. It can be provided in minutes by your optician or doctor, and so we recommend that you ask for it when you have your eyes tested, or you may use our self measurement tool (here). The short video below will show you how to measure your own PD.

What do the numbers on my Rx mean?
See our “HOW TO ORDER” page.

What if I entered some information wrong?
Immediately call or send an email alerting us, because we process orders very rapidly. For this reason we ask you to please double-check your prescription and shipping information prior to submitting your order. Once you've placed your order you are given the option of printing it off, we recommend you do this for future reference.

What if my frames need adjustment after I receive them?
If you need a minor adjustment, most optical stores will do it for free or a small fee.

What is this 100% guarantee?
We offer you a 14-day, money-back guarantee. Should you decide that your new glasses aren't right for you, we'll give you a refund or exchange them for another pair of the same value. Click (here) for full details and procedures for returns.

When does the 14 day period start?
When we place the completed order in the mail to you..

Do you refund for postage?
We do not offer refunds for postage and you must return the glasses to us prepaid postage.

Do you accept any insurance plans?
No. In order to keep our prices as low as possible we accept no insurance plans. However you may submit your invoice to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

What are the Postage and Packaging costs?
There is a postage and packaging charge per order. Order as many eyeglasses as you like in each order. Glasses are sent  via Priority Mail. Our  packages fit into most mailboxes and you do not have to be in to receive them when they arrive. At the present time we ship only to to the US.

What are the available methods of payment?
We accept all major credit/debit cards, personal checks, postal orders and PayPal. Our payment processor is PayPal but you do not need an account with them to purchase from us.

Can I just order frames/lenses with no prescription in them?
Yes! Just specify in the prescription form that you require no lens.

Can you read my prescription off my existing glasses?
No I am sorry we are not offering that service at this time.

Can you put lenses in  my existing frames?
Yes we can. However we cannot be responsible for patient supplied frames. Due to the age and prior use of patients own frames there is a high incidence of breakage. Just print out our order form (here) package your frame carefully and send it to us postage paid  here. We can even mount lenses in specialty frames (inserts, sports goggles etc.). Click (here) for more details and information.

Can I inspect the frames before purchase?
Sure – just order a frame only – you will be credited the full cost of the frame (less shipping) when you return the frame to us with your prescription order..

What do the Frame Measurements mean?
The easiest way to get the right frame size is to get the dimensions from a comfortable pair of glasses you already have.

Frame Measurments

The Lens Height is a matter of choice, but the other two determine the fit.

They do not need to be exact, but the closer they are to your existing pair, the more likely your new glasses are to be a comfortable fit.

The following guidelines may help in your frame selection.

Body Size Lens Bridge Arm/Temple
Small female 46-48 16-18 130-135
Avg. Female/Small Male 48-50 17-20 135-140
Avg.  Male/Large Male 50-52 17-20 135-145
Large Male 52-58 18-22 140-150

Bifocal Heights?
Unless otherwise stated in your order (in the special instructions section) our Opticians will follow SureFIT© technology Guidelines for Multifocal placements. Please contact us for further information on any special requirements you may have.
